We class 16 and 17 years olds as adults because they generally have the same level of access to the campsite and use the same space and facilities as 18+ adults, so they’re included in the same way when we plan those facilities and capacities across the site. Also, all children must be supervised during their stay, but this doesn’t make sense for 16 and 17 year olds who are more independent. Classing them as adults helps keep things more straightforward on site for everybody
To make sure there’s appropriate oversight for all groups, any bookings that include 16 or 17 year olds must also include at least one person aged 25+.
NOTE: Being classed as an adult for campsite booking purposes does not change usual age restrictions. For example, those who are under 18 will not be allowed to purchase alcohol in the campsite bars, or be allowed to supervise others who are under 18.
